History of the Michigan International Speedway
For an institution that wasn't originally intended to be in Jackson, the Michigan International Speedway certainly has made a significant contribution to the Jackson area. With more than 250,000 people attending events at MIS annually, area officials estimate that racing programs and other related activities regularly inject millions of dollars into the area's economy. From its humble beginnings, to now being the fastest track in NASCAR, we will explore the rich history of Michigan’s premier motorsports’ facility.
