About the event
The Jackson County Michigan Historical Society invites you to its “sweetest” annual gathering on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the “Big Hall” at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 309 S. Jackson St., Jackson. This dessert-only celebration will feature cakes, cookies, confections, and a banana split/yogurt smorgasbord with fruit, nuts, granola, and other toppings. Guests are welcome, but not required, to bring a favorite dessert to share. The evening will also feature JCMHS President Maurice Imhoff, who will “unearth” Jackson County’s fascinating coal-mining history through a 30-minute presentation featuring historic maps, images, mine locations, and stories from the county’s past.
JCMHS will also unveil its annual awards for Community Impact for Local History, Lifetime Achievement in Local History, and Historic Preservation within Jackson County. Parking is available in the Wesley Street lot across from the Jackson YMCA, with the church’s back entrance visible from the lot. Admission is $15…
