About the event

The marker, commemorating a trail used by Native Americans before and after European settlers arrived, was researched by JCMHS Trustee Dan Wymer and sponsored by JCMHS. Wymer, who also serves as president of the Michigan Archeological Society, has spent several years researching Native American campsites and excavating artifacts throughout the county. One of the oldest artifacts in the state of Michigan will be illustrated on the marker.
