The Jackson County Michigan Historical Society is proud to participate alongside local museums in Jackson County’s Free Museum Day on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. As part of this countywide celebration, the Historical Society invites visitors to experience its featured exhibit, Pathways of Patriotism: Exploring Jackson County’s Revolutionary Roots. Timed during Mother’s Day weekend, this special event offers a meaningful opportunity for families and community members to come together and explore the stories that have shaped Jackson County and the nation.
Pathways of Patriotism traces the enduring influence of America’s founding ideals—liberty, civic duty, and democratic participation—through the lens of Jackson County’s history. From the region’s early Indigenous Potawatomi presence to the arrival of Revolutionary War veterans, the exhibit highlights how these foundational values were carried forward by settlers who helped build the community.
